As the nights draw in, the temperature begins to cool and the fruits on the trees ripen, glampers staying in our shepherds hut may well enjoy a cosier visit.
By day our proximity to the Parrett Trail and Monarchs Walk provides a quick and easy route leading walkers through our neighbouring apple orchards of North Perrott Fruit Farm and onward towards the Dorset countryside. Those who wish to venture a little further can choose to drive to the Somerset levels where they can walk, cycle or paddle board. Or perhaps the Jurassic coastline is more inviting; a sea swim, paddle board, kayak, fishing trip either at sea or from the River Brit, or a stomp along the coastal path.
The natural light during the Autumn months has a very pleasing affect on the local ham stone with which many of the houses in our locality are built. Strolling around our village visitors will be rewarded with gorgeous views of our picturesque English country village at every turn.
The earlier sunsets open up more opportunity to star gaze, making the most of the dark skies thanks to an absence of street lights in our village. Stargazing from the hot tub or while sitting in the deck chairs and toasting marshmallows on the chimnea (we even provide the mallows) will no doubt be favourite past times.
Inside the shepherds hut the crackle of the wood burner, the flames dancing around the logs, the flickering light generating a cosy romantic atmosphere.
A midweek 2-3 night mini-break from £250, or weekend stay from £290 could be your perfect autumnal antidote to the hum drum of daily life. Guests can enjoy exclusive and unlimited use of the log fired hot tub, fluffy towels and dressing gowns provided, ingredients for a delicious full English breakfast for their first morning, a very comfortable bed and a warm welcome from us, Karen and Simon.
