For a rural area we are so incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by hugely talented chefs and restaurant/cafe owners. We have a brilliant selection of independents from quirky cafes to Michelin guide restaurants, it's been difficult keeping this list small enough to not be overwhelming.
Haselbury Plucknett

Wednesday to Saturday 12.00 – 2.30pm, 6.30pm – Close
Sunday 12.00 – 3.00pm (advanced booking is essential)
Top of our list of recommendations has to be our very own village pub, just a couple hundred metres away. Rebecca and Richard will give you a warm welcome. Absolutely delicious restaurant standard food served with a fine selection of wines and real ales. Richard (the chef) used to work in The Oxo Tower.

About one mile walk from here towards Crewkerne, in a beautiful setting the Haselbury Mill offers selection of dining experiences from Windy Miller’s pub to The Lakeside Restaurant. They also hold many events throughout the year so worth looking on their website.

Merriott
A fabulously converted Sunday School with a nod to cycling. Friendly staff, great food and lovely surroundings, if you’re keen, you can take the public footpaths to this café, it’s around 3 miles away.

Stoke Sub Hamdon
This stunning 1930s decorated coffee shop opened just before lockdown and survived by offering takeaways. Really friendly staff, delicious cakes and just down the hill from Ham Hill Country Park

West Bay
THE beach hut of choice out of the many huts lining the harbour at West Bay. It opens seasonally so look out for it near the Harbour Master’s office and on their facebook page. Great value, unpretentious.

Rise in West Bay & Swim Lyme Regis

Both of these have fabulous locations, in their respective towns and interesting menus. Love the food! They feel young and cool, both get really busy, so you're advised to book ahead.
Lyme Regis
On the beach front, this small cafe packs a punch. Great coffee and light bites of freshly prepared bagels, slices, and cakes are served swiftly in a prime location. They also provide deck chairs enabling their customers to take in the uninterrupted view of the beach while enjoying their wares.
