By Road
Many of our guests use Google Maps, or similar, for directions, Esme's Escape is listed as a business which makes for easy navigating.

We are around 40 mintes from the M5, and just 15 minutes drive from the A303. If approaching from west using the M5, A30 or A303 and are using googlemaps it sometimes directs drivers down a neighbour's drive. To avoid this continue on the road into the village until you reach the crossroads. When there turn left and then left again into Church Lane. You will see Esme's Escape's entrance opposite the church gate.
You will be able to park right next to the Shepherd's Hut for the duration of your stay.
By Train
Esme's Escape is a few miles from Crewkerne Train Station, on the Waterloo to Penzance line. A ten minute taxi ride will get you safely to our door.

The Setting
Esme's Escape Shepherd's hut is located in a small orchard in the centre of Haselbury Plucknett, a picturesque South Somerset village. It is tucked away from the main thoroughfare and is often complimented on its tranquillity. As you will see from the photos we are nestled between residential houses and the Church and yet can offer a spacious, self contained area for our guests, with an outdoor seating area with a log-fired Hot Tub, perfect for dining and relaxing in the country air. The Orchard features tools and workbenches that Fred & Esme used when they lived here. Walkers will enjoy the proximity to The Liberty Trail and The Parrett Trail.
Accessibility
We have an inclusive policy; welcoming couples of any colour, religion and sexual preference.
Sadly, the structure of the Shepherd's Hut with it's steps mean it is inappropriate for those with mobility problems to stay. The limited space eliminates the opportunity for a cot, however we offer a perfect space to recharge young parents' batteries and enjoy some couple time away from their children.
